What exactly is CID?
The primary objective of CID is to provide a forum for the sharing of information about commercial properties and prospect "wants" in "Marketing Sessions" - leading to referrals, co-brokerage and property exchanges. Other objectives are:
- To unite those engaged in the commercial, industrial and investment segments of the real estate profession for the purpose of exerting a beneficial influence upon the real estate profession and related interests.
- To promote and maintain a property listing and "wants" information system to facilitate and promote interest in commercial and investment opportunities.
- To unite those engaged in the commercial and investment real estate professions with the members of other REALTORŪ oriented organizations, thereby furthering their own objectives through the state and nation, and obtaining the benefits and privileges of membership therein.
Active membership in the State CID organization automatically includes membership in a regional CID group. Both the State and Regional CID's hold monthly meetings and "Marketing Sessions".
Should I be active on the State or Regional level?
Hopefully both! Certainly you will conduct the bulk of your business regionally, and this will be the most help to you. Many brokers, however, have listings or wants that have statewide appeal and can benefit by this wider exposure.
Can you expand on CID's functions?
NETWORKING is a broker's lifeblood! At separate State and Regional CID meetings, members may present their client's properties and prospect requirements (known as "wants") during "Marketing Sessions". At each meeting, members are briefed on topics of interest such as legislative matters relating to the real estate industry. Many times, guest speakers discuss subjects relative to everyday business.
EDUCATION Courses and seminars are sponsored each year by CID on the most relevant topics and events impacting the commercial real estate industry. Many times these educational opportunities are approved for the continuing educational credits required for the State of Connecticut Real Estate licensing renewal.
WEBSITE www.conncid.com is powered by Loopnet, the Web's premier commercial real estate site. Our website contains all of the features that commercial practitioners are looking for - the ability to add or edit listing information, post wants, search for properties for sale or lease, search the member database, link to other commercial sites and much, much more.
How do I become a Member?
Any REALTORŪ or REALTORŪ-Associate in good standing with a Board/Association of REALTORSŪ in the State of Connecticut may apply for active membership in CID.
What if I'm not a REALTORŪ?
If you are a real estate broker or salesperson representing clients or working with prospects for the purpose of buying, selling, leasing or exchanging property, membership in a Board/Association of REALTORSŪ is a requirement before becoming a CID member.
Other allied professionals are encouraged to join CID as Affiliate members. This includes bankers, lawyers, architects, CPA's, etc. - in short anyone who can benefit from contact with other professionals in the commercial real estate or business mainstream. Complete and mail the form below to receive all membership information.
Do you have a parting word about CID?
One of the best benefits of CID membership is your contact with other real estate brokers and salespersons who make a living selling, leasing and exchanging commercial real estate. The sharing of ideas, knowledge and experience is often more valuable than any other single benefit of CID membership.
